What the brand says

Mirado is a new washing station for us, but if you’ve been drinking our Ethiopian coffees for a while, you’ll recognize a lot about it. 300 small-holders at high elevation in Bensa, Sidama provide cherry to Asefa Dukamo of the legendary Daye Bensa Coffee Company for processing. As you’d expect, the flavor is amazing! We taste peach, jasmine honey, raspberry, lemon, and nectarine. This one is fantastic both hot and iced (flash-brewed), and it will make a great light roast espresso too!

If you’ve enjoyed our Ethiopia Ardi (Shantawene Washing Station), Ethiopia Hamasho (Hamasho Washing Station), or Ethiopia Keramo (Keramo Washing Station) in the past, you will love this coffee. It comes from a neighboring washing station (Mirado) run by the same exporter, Daye Bensa. The producers who deliver to Mirado are literally neighbors with the producers who deliver to Shantawene, Hamasho, and Keramo! The high elevation results in slow maturation of the coffee cherries, resulting in small and dense beans packed with flavor. In the cup, we taste remarkably sweet peach, jasmine honey, raspberry, lemon, and nectarine.

How should you brew it? We always find Ethiopians excel in all brewing methods. They tend to produce more fines when you grind them, so if you are doing a pourover, it can be helpful to do a smaller-sized brew and keep the agitation to a minimum (to prevent fines from clogging the filter). But you really can’t go wrong—auto drip, French Press, AeroPress, Clever/Switch, and espresso are all excellent with this coffee!

Mirado is certified organic, UTZ, and Rainforest Alliance.

It is named after Mirado, the person who founded the kebele, reflecting the area's local legacy and deep community roots. Coffee is sourced from several nearby villages, including Dambi, Silinga, Sagara, and Kokose. The station is supported by 510 committed coffee suppliers and farmers, who contribute to the production of quality coffee. With its unique positioning and strong community foundation, Mirado plays an important role in the region’s coffee landscape.
