BASIC INFO Tasting Note Ginger Blossom + Sweet Orange + Earl Grey Tea Region Uraga, Guji, Ethiopia Variety Dega & Kurumi Process Washed Altitude 2300 masl Harvest January 2026 ABOUT ESTATE This Gogogu Washed G1 lot comes from Wate Village in Uraga, Guji, and was processed at the Gogogu Washing Station operated by SNAP Specialty Coffee. Founded by Negusse Debela in 2008, SNAP established the Gogogu Washing Station in 2020, serving approximately 510 smallholder farmers. Coffee in this area is cultivated at elevations reaching 2,400 meters above sea level, making Wate one of the most distinctive growing regions in Guji. In the Oromo language, “Gogogu” means “dry,” yet the area's exceptional natural conditions and the dedication of local farmers consistently produce coffees of outstanding quality. Wate is also known as the origin of a coffee that won the washed category championship in the African division of the Taste of Harvest competition. This season's Dega and Kurumi varieties were processed using the traditional washed method. Fully ripe cherries were carefully selected, depulped, and fermented underwater for approximately 60 hours. After washing, the parchment coffee was dried on raised African beds for 17–20 days before being stored in parchment until final milling and export preparation. In the cup, elegant ginger flower aromatics are complemented by delicate notes of sweet orange and a lingering Earl Grey tea finish.
