- Variety: Pink Bourbon - Country: Colombia - Region: Quebradon, San Augustìn - Process: Washed - Altitude: 1800 MASL - Producer: Arnaldo Guzman - Farm: Finca La Alejandra - Roast Level: Light In the cup In the cup we taste mouthwatering raspberry lemonade, juicy stone fruits, and delicate florals. This coffee has a light body and a juicy, sweet finish. Clean Funky Terroir Experimental About The Producer Arnaldo (Arnardo) Guzman is a highly-experienced coffee producer. This is his thirtieth year producing coffee in the township of Quebradon in San Agustìn, Colombia. He primarily produces Pink Bourbon and Gesha trees and is in the process of renewing his Catimor plantation, working towards producing only specialty coffee. Processing Arnaldo holds daily pre-harvest meetings with his pickers to ensure everyone knows the level of maturity they are looking for in the cherries. This washed Pink Bourbon lot was first dry fermented with the whole cherry intact in plastic bags for 72 hours. The cherries were then de-pulped and further fermented in plastic bags for another 72 hours. The seeds are then rinsed and dried on parabolic-style greenhouse solar dryers for a period of 10 to 30 days. Variety Pink Bourbon is a variety primarily grown in Huila, Colombia. Though newer than other varietals, it has quickly grown in popularity for its bright, sweet and aromatic profiles. It is now known to be an Ethiopian Landrace. Transparency Imported Osito We Paid $18.10 USD/KG Roasted Costs $22.81 USD/KG This is our first time featuring a coffee from Colombian producer Arnaldo Guzman. This washed Pink Bourbon lot is loud, reminding us of our favourite expressions of Colombia Pink Bourbon. (Extra-light profiles are generally some of the lightest roasts we offer and require additional rest for best results. They generally sacrifice initial intensity of sweetness and acidity for clarity. If you enjoy sweet, juicy and balanced cups, we recommend our traditional light roast over this extra-light variant.)
