Elmer’s farm, Nuevo Horizonte, sits at 2,000 meters of elevation in the community of Santa María. This coffee is bright and sweet with high clarity, reminding us of raspberry, cherry, pink lady apple, lemonade, brown sugar, and caramel. This was the standout cup from our most recent visit to Huila and we're finding it to be an exceptional filter coffee. The location of Santa María in the north of the department has left it to fly under the radar, but we’re frequently tasting coffees from there that rival the very best lots from the better known districts of Pitalito or Acevedo. Elmer calls his farm Nuevo Horizonte to represent the opportunities it will create for his family.
