Varieties: Ethiopian Landraces Region: Gedeb, Gedeo, Ethiopia Altitude: 1,950-2,200 meters Process: Washed Harvest: January 2026 Notes: White Nectarine, Silky Berries & Floral. Danche has become a distinguished annual favorite. This year's separation exhibits a full range of Landrace character with a heightened sugary aspect. The brew is distinguished on the sweet side whilst sustaining a bright acidity throughout the cup. There is a firm and delicate nuance to this coffee that is revealing new layers at every temperature stage. Overall this lot is lively with substantial notes of peach, bright nectarine, pink fruit, sweet tea & silky floral complexity. The Danche Station in the Gedeb Zone, Ethiopia is managed by SNAP Specialty Coffee. There are approximately 800 farmers that deliver cherry to this washing station, come from the region and have around 2 Hectares (5 Acres) of land sitting at an elevation of 2,200 meters above sea level on average! This lot consists mostly of the Kurume and Wolisho varieties. Once cherries arrived at the Station, they are placed in water for sorting and removing floaters. Cherries are then de-pulped, dry-fermented for 96 hours and washed to remove the mucilage. The parchment is then laid out to dry on raised beds for 12-14 days. Wolisho and Dega are both Landrace varieties found in & around the Gedeo zone in Ethiopia. They are grown in the forest-gardens of the highlands, they have high quality potential despite irregular fruiting patterns. There are most likely other Landrace varieties mixed into this lot. Danche has quickly become a sought after communal lot for their consistent quality above so many other factories. This a Grade-1-stunner. I am excited to share this one with you! Our coffees are best for brewing after two weeks+ of the roast date. Order by Sunday for Monday's roast. Shipped on Tuesdays.Varieties: Ethiopian Landraces Region: Gedeb, Gedeo, Ethiopia Altitude: 1,950-2,200 meters Process: Washed Harvest: January 2026 Notes: White Nectarine, Silky Berries & Floral.
