Was der Röster sagt

We are excited to bring back this special coffee from all women producers! This fair trade, organic coffee comes to us from our friends at the CODECH cooperative. The CODECH cooperative is an organization made up of three different associations in the Concepción Huista Municipality, in the region of Huehuetenango in the western part of Guatemala. Located as the crow flies only about 20 miles from the border with Mexico, and about 100 miles to the east of the well-known coffee growing region of Chiapas. The members of these associations that produce these lovely lots of coffee represent branches of the Mayan family. The associations of CODECH separate coffee from the participating women members, who each own and/or manage their own farms. The women are paid a premium for their coffee, and they have agreed as a group to apply half of the premium to health-care programs and workshops specifically targeting the high infant-mortality rate in Concepcion Huista.
