BASIC INFO Tasting Note Pear + Lime + Green Tea Region Gedeb, Ethiopia Variety Heirloom Process Washed Altitude 2100 masl Harvest November 2025 ABOUT ESTATE Worka Sakaro is one of the sixteen villages in the Gedeb district, located approximately 12 kilometers from the center of Gedeb town. Covering an area of 1,276 hectares, around 679 hectares are dedicated to coffee cultivation. In the local Gedeb language, Worka means “gold,” a name inspired by the warm and welcoming nature of the local community. The area is also home to a distinctive native tree known as Sakaro, from which the village derives its name. The Worka area is home to only two privately owned washing stations and one cooperative washing station. Wuri Washing Station is one of the private stations located in Worka. The name Wuri comes from the Gedeo language and means “high altitude.” In March 2017, the station was acquired by Ranger Trading PLC, a sister company of BNT Industry & Trading PLC. Since taking over operations, Ranger has focused exclusively on processing fully ripe red cherries, producing both washed and natural coffees. The company is also recognized as one of the pioneers in Ethiopia to develop and implement anaerobic fermentation processing methods. In the cup, sweet pear notes lead the profile, complemented by bright lime acidity and a clean green tea-like finish.
