Established in 2013 by Caravela Coffee, Beneficio La Estrella—translating as "The Star"—was built to provide premiums for quality. The Nueva Segovia department is known as the cradle of specialty coffee in Nicaragua; its unique micro-climate with altitudes of up to 1700 MASL is primed for deliciousness. The ripe cherries from 126 producers in the surrounding municipalities are delivered to La Estrella where they undergo the washed process for a class Nicaraguan coffee profile. The producers are provided with agronomy support and quality is recognised with fixed price premiums, helping the journey towards sustainable futures and a consistent supply of this great coffee for us all to enjoy.
