The objective of these peasant families was to fight for a better price for their product, which they believe is of high quality for the region. Certifying with Fairtrade has enabled the producers to maintain cost premiums above the market, while adhering to better farming practices. Each associate producer is supported through farming practice education and fertiliser input. They are all responsible for working on the management of waste water and leachate into the surrounding land.
