## O que a marca diz

> Country Mexico Region Santo Domingo Teojomulco, Sierra Sur, Oaxaca Producers 13 Families Altitude 900-1500 masl Variety Typica, Bourbon, Mundo Novo Processing Washed Drying Patio We have been purchasing coffee from Santo Domingo Teojomulco via Osito, one of our importing partners, since 2021. Teojomulco, led by Señor Hildilberto Roman, is comprised of 30 families, with the lot we purchased this year being comprised of coffee from 13 of these 30 families. Sierra Sur, Oaxaca is one of Mexico’s most remote coffee-growing regions; most residents work on small farms and speak indigenous Mesoamerican languages, namely Zapoteco and Mixteco. Given their remoteness and the language barrier, coffee exported from Sierra Sur is quite uncommon. The high quality of their coffee, however, has incentivized Osito, UNTAO and the producers of Santo Domingo Teojomulco alike to develop creative solutions to bring this coffee to specialty markets around the world. Teojomulco initially caught the attention of exporter and dry mill, UNTAO, in 2020. UNTAO works with and processes some of the best coffees in Oaxaca, including coffee from the well known cooperative ‘Union San Pedro’. Shortly after beginning their relationship together, UNTAO introduced the producers of Teojomulco to one of our importing partners, Osito Coffee. Commonplace has been purchasing from Teojomulco ever since. Many of the producers from Teojomulco have received technical training and assistance from Enrique López Aguilar of the world famous Finca Chelín farm, renowned for being one of the most innovative coffee farms in all of Mexico. The pay off for these trainings and the hard work of these producers has been clear; consistent, high quality community lots over multiple years. We continue to purchase this coffee for its warm, clean and incredibly sweet profile. Simply put, this is a phenomenal representation of Oaxacan washed coffee. We’re excited to continue highlighting this uncommon growing region and this unique group of farmers.
