Here, hundreds of smallholder farmers nurture their coffee trees with care, contributing to a collective story of resilience and renewal. The name Isano means “five” in Kinyarwanda, chosen to honour the five washing stations that work together under Muraho Trading to produce this lot. It symbolises unity, collaboration, and the shared determination of communities that have faced hardship yet continue to rebuild and thrive. Every step of the process, from handpicking ripe cherries to careful washing and drying on raised African beds, reflects the deep knowledge and dedication passed down through generations. What makes Isano special is not only the landscape of Lake Kivu but also the spirit of the people who live and work there. For many families, coffee has become more than a crop - it is a pathway to education, stability, and opportunity.
