Ce que dit la marque
Continuing on from some of our recent microlot releases, we've got another gorgeous Kenyan filter coffee for you. A washed process coffee, our Thririka AA is clean and bright with a punchy and vibrant, almost fruit-salad flavour profile to it. We picked up on ripe honeydew melon, white grapes and then some caramel sweetness, reminiscent of dried apricot. A pretty perfect reflection of the summer we've been enjoying this year. From Kiambu County, this filter coffee is the produce of the Thiririka Farmers' Cooperative Society. Made up of 1,500 members and operating three processing facilities, this co-op aims to produce coffee of the highest quality while providing support, lower/shared costs and better returns for all of it's members. Traditionally, Kenyan farmers are free to shop their produce around to the many plants and mills in their area, selling their goods through an auction system. However, through the co-op, the auction is skipped for a set rate. Farmers are offered a fair (and often higher) return, allowing them to invest more in their farm and equipment. Once delivered, the cherries will be processed and monitored carefully throughout fermentation, washing and drying to ensure only the best makes it's way to a roastery. There's a reason we have always worked with small producers and co-ops as closely as possible: - We get to meet the people behind what we sample and select some exceptional coffees, for you. - The best return for the people who make it possible, all while building relationships that yield better and better produce over time. Building these relationships takes a lot of time and effort, but coffees like our Thiririka AA are the fruits of that labour. Clean, balanced and full of character, this has been selected and roasted specifically by Roasted Brown for filter brewing. If you like your filter coffee fruit forward with a clean and bright finish, this small batch release is bursting with ripe honeydew melon, grape and dried apricot. Like many of our Kenyan filters, this won't hang around for long. ** COFFEE INFO** Taste notes: Honeydew Melon, Grape & Dried Apricot **Producer:**Thiririka Farmers Cooperative Society Varietals: Batian, SL-28, SL-34 Process: Washed MASL: 1,600 - 1,800 (Metres Above Sea Level) Sold Out?
