Sweater Weather is a 33/33/33 blend of El Alto (Costa Rica), Kolla Bolcha (Ethiopia), and La Soledad (Guatemala). We’re so excited to have this fresh Ethiopian back in our blend rotation as it offers up a lot of delicious complexity, a lactic sweetness and slight herbaceousness. La Soledad lends a rich texture that reminded us of milk chocolate with delicate tea-like qualities that reminded us of a lightly roasted oolong tea. El Alto ties everything together giving the overall delivery and mouthfeel of this blend the vibe of drinking a really good milk tea! Our favorite shots were: 17.3g in/ 33g out/ 33s that tastes like oolong tea, lemongrass and passionfruit with a milk tea mouthfeel. The larger ratio drew out more of the more delicate flavors of the blend. We also thought that more richness and body was possible with a 17.5g or 17.6g does, a 31g output and a 30-31s output. Overall we’re really excited about this blend and know y’all will have some fun dialing it in! Sweater Weather is the final offering in our water-themed, mission-driven seasonal espresso series this year. For this last edition we are excited to sponsor the Surfrider Foundation with its dedication to protecting and enjoying the ocean and beaches through an activist network. Learn more about them here!
