Menglian, Yunnan This is the Natural coffee from the Banka farm in the Menglian region of Yunnan China on the border of Myanmar. This is yet another great small lot producer of specialty coffee in Yunnan. Our partners YCT in Yunnan have worked with this washing station consistently and it produces about 60 tons of washed and naturals per harvest. Banka is located at 1250 masl and uses well developed processing methods such as cherry color sorting and growing tunnels to protect from rainfall. In 2018 Lucia Solis supervised some experimental controlled fermentation here using ORO yeast. The coffee cherries are harvested by the Lahu tribal peoples that live nearby and work the coffee shrubs both around Banka Village.
