Product Description Producer ASOBOMBO Farm/Mill El Bombo Cultivar Mixed Process Washed Location Pitalito - Huila Altitude 1,650 - 2,300 masl Harvest November - January Expect notes of Chocolate, Red Apple, Orange. Coffee Story El Bombo is a coffee that has earned Organic certification and is sourced from the members of the Asobombo producer association. The association consists of 95 producers hailing from the villages of Laguna del Bombo, La Laguna, El Paraíso, Alto Planes, Laguna Verde, and Laguna Chiquita. These producers work closely together to promote a traditional coffee culture in the micro-regions of Aipecito, Esmeralda, and Chapinero, which are located in Huila. Here, there are abundant water sources and native shade trees. Local producers take pride in the geographic diversity of the area, which has a unique climate ranging from dry and hot to cool and humid. We are releasing El Bombo to coincide with Earth Day. It’s a time to reflect on the impact that our daily choices have on the planet. Coffee is one of the most popular beverages in the world, but the process of growing, harvesting, and transporting coffee beans can have a significant impact on the environment. To make more sustainable choices when it comes to coffee, there are a few things to keep in mind… Organic coffee is cultivated using regenerative and holistic practices, without the use of chemical fertilisers, herbicides, or pesticides. This approach not only enhances soil quality, but also prevents chemical runoff from contaminating nearby water sources. Shade-grown coffee, on the other hand, may not necessarily always be organic, but it is grown under the shade of larger trees, which can help promote reforestation and create a diverse ecosystem that fosters natural pest control and nutrient provision for the coffee trees. By making these small changes to your coffee consumption habits, you can make a positive impact on the environment and help support sustainable coffee farming practices. So, let's raise a cup of sustainably sourced coffee beans and toast to a greener future! Roast type We don’t label our coffee as espresso or filter. Instead, for each coffee we create a unique roasting profile, designed to bring out the best flavours from its origin, farm and milling method. That’s why, instead, we label our coffee based on the experience it brings to the cup. COFFEE EXPERIENCES MELLOW & BALANCED: Accessible, low acidity coffee for gentle enjoyment.
