FARM: Finca Filadelfia REGION: Antigua ALTITUDE : 1500 - 1700 MASL VARIETAL : Bourbon, Caturra PROCESS : Washed

This washed lot comes from Guatemala’s Antigua region and is produced by Coffee Bird, a family-owned, female-led company founded by Marta Dalton. With coffee roots dating back to 1864, Marta continues her family’s legacy by working directly with producers to streamline production and support quality and innovation.

Cherries are selectively harvested by Brix level, then carefully fermented, washed, and dried, resulting in a clean, vibrant cup. The story traces back to the late 1800s, when Guatemala’s cochineal trade declined due to industrialisation in Europe. In 1870, Alexandra’s ancestor secured land in Antigua and shifted to coffee, later travelling to London to sell his first crop.

As an early pioneer, he became known as the ‘grandfather of coffee’ in Guatemala, laying the foundation for generations to follow.
