## Ce que dit la marque

> Orange marmalade, maple syrup & honey. Nestled on the northwestern slopes of Mt. Elgon at 2,100m above sea level, Sipi is known for its stunning waterfalls, lush landscapes, and exceptional coffee-growing conditions. While coffee has long been cultivated here, the shift to high-quality specialty coffee is more recent. In the 1970s, Sipi thrived as Uganda helped meet global coffee demand during Brazil’s frost crisis. Exporters flooded the region, setting up mills and warehouses. However, when Brazil recovered, buyers vanished, leaving behind abandoned infrastructure and farmers without a market. Many turned to alternative crops, and trust in coffee trade dwindled. Today, Zukuka Bora is changing this narrative. With dedicated site managers like Ken, farmers are supported with fair pricing and immediate payment for their cherries. Only the highest quality coffee is accepted, ensuring a sustainable and rewarding system for producers. One standout method is anaerobic fermentation—where whole cherries are sealed in airtight tanks for five days, intensifying flavors before careful drying on raised beds. The result is a vibrant, complex coffee, rich in character and reflective of Sipi’s unique terroir. Sipi coffee isn’t just a brew—it’s a revival of tradition, a commitment to quality, and a testament to the resilience of its people.
