Pascual Marcos Cardona’s small farm overlooks the highlands of western Guatemala near the town of Concepción Huista. Pascual is part of the CODECH cooperative, an organization we’ve worked closely with since 2010. Each season, the cooperative sets aside the best-scoring deliveries for premium sale, thereby incentivizing and rewarding quality. Pascual’s coffee is regularly one of the top-scoring coffees. After hundreds of cups were tasted, the coop identified this coffee as one of the best, and our sourcing team couldn’t agree more. We purchased it specifically to offer exclusively to our subscribers. This sweet, chocolatey coffee is layered with a memorable stone-fruit complexity and a crisp, green-apple-like finish.
