Lo que dice la marca
Product detailed description Coffee Story * * * The Reforest Project, launched by Forest Coffee at Finca El Vergel, is reshaping the future of specialty coffee in response to climate instability and economic uncertainty. It currently works with 170 producers, focusing on education, innovation, and sustainable practices. The Miners jumped into the project in 2024 as a partner pays a premium for each kilogram of green coffee. This enables the producers to adopt a higher standard of living. Region & Farms * * * Region Tolima & Caldas Tolima Region is located in central-west Colombia, with nutrient-rich soils producing unique flavors. Caldas Region is a distinguished coffee-producing region, celebrated for high-quality Arabica. The climate is warm and humid, with average temperatures between 13–24°C and minimal yearly fluctuations due to proximity to the Equator. * * * Farms The participating farmers work on small plots. Most of them own 1 to 3 hectares of land. The central hub of the entire project is El Vergel, where coffee from most of the farmers is collected, sorted, and processed. This model allows small growers to focus on precise cultivation, while the more technically demanding stages of processing take place in a professional facility. Through direct trade, farmers can increase income by up to 30%, while sustainable practices build long-term resilience for both farms and ecosystems. The goal is to plant 17,000 endemic guamo trees, approximately 100 trees per hectare, by 2025 and introduce at least one seedling of a new coffee varietal on every participating farm. * * * Processing & Flavor The coffee undergoes a washed process. Ripe cherries are hand-picked and carefully sorted. After depulping, the coffee often undergoes a short fermentation in tanks to enhance clarity and gentle sweetness. The parchment is then dried for 10–20 days until it reaches ideal moisture levels of 10-12%. This attention to drying and stabilization results in a clean, balanced and naturally sweet profile, true to the character of Tolima and Caldas. * * * The Taste Idea " Our goal was to highlight the caramel sweetness and fruitiness reminiscent of fresh plums. Balanced body, pleasant sweetness, and gentle fruity notes brings you an everyday cup. " Jan Jim Huza - Head Roaster. * * * Details Country of Origin Colombia (Tolima & Caldas) Project / Hub Reforest Project / El Vergel Variety Mixed Processing Washed Flavor Caramel, Plums & Balanced Roast Espressot Why You'll Love It - Sustainable project supporting 170 producers in Tolima & Caldas. - Direct trade ensures fairer income. - Balanced and sweet, perfect for filter and espresso.
