Product Description Producer New Ngariama Farmers Cooperative Society Farm/Mill Kainamui Cultivar SL 28 - SL 34 - Ruiri 11 Process Washed - Dry Fermentation Location Kirinyaga County, Kenya Altitude 1650 - 1800 masl Harvest November - January Expect notes of Nectarine, Cherry, Peach Coffee Story Kagumoini is located 3km from the town of Karatina in the Central province of Kenya. This factory services five nearby villages and is made up of close to 1,100 members. Its main water source is the Ruiru river and four pulpers are used for cherry processing. Overseeing the factory is a manager who reports to the Mugaga Farmers Cooperative Society (FCS). There are three representatives from Kagumoini who are a part of this management committee. Part of the factory’s mandate is to ensure the welfare of its farmer members and currently there are programs in place that help provide advances for school fees, farm inputs and training by staff from the Ministry of Agriculture. This year, we have purchased three different lots of Kenyan coffees, all of them AA – the top grade in Kenya. This lot is quite different from your classic Kenyan flavour profile, with lots of nectarine and peach plus a hint of red cherry. Roast type We don’t label our coffee as espresso or filter. Instead, for each coffee we create a unique roasting profile, designed to bring out the best flavours from its origin, farm and milling method. That’s why, instead, we label our coffee based on the experience it brings to the cup. COFFEE EXPERIENCES VIBRANT & BRIGHT: A sweet, punchy and intense reminder that coffee is a fruit.
