Itamambuca Brazilian Ground Coffee A delicious coffee, with huge notes of grape and maple syrup sweetness and a thick body – the perfect bean for espressos that excel, creating great créma, that makes for super smooth flat whites. Finer details: Flavour: PRALINE ~ RAISIN ~ MAPLE SYRUP Region: MONTE SANTO DE MINAS Bean: SINGLE ORIGIN / 100% ARABICA Varietal: YELLOW CATUCAI Process: NATURAL PROCESS Elevation: 1050-1150M Speciality Coffee Association (SCA) Score: 84.5 Notes on the Coffee... Our Itamambuca Brazilian is prepared using a natural process, which leaves 70-80% of the sweet mucilage on the beans while drying, which is then rested in silos for 30 to 60 days depending on the weather until the beans reach the perfect moisture content. The Catucai varietal is a cross between Icatu and Catuai, a small and hardy plant with high productivity, making it perfect for the lower altitudes associated with Brazilian coffee growing. Our Itamambuca Brazilian has a SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) score of 84.5, which means it is rated as very good by certified Q graders who perform a coffee tasting process called cupping. A score of 80 or above classifies the coffee as 'speciality grade.’ About the wave... Praia de Itamambuca beach is approximately 3 km long with soft, white sand and clear blue water and is known for its stunning natural beauty. At the southern, sheltered end of the beach, backed by luscious green trees, is river mouth break renowned for producing peeling right handers. Notes on the Farm... Sourced directly from Mio - a family-run farm, this Brazilian single origin comes directly from the Monte Santo de Minas area, in the south of the Minas Gerais state. Mió take enormous pride in the traceability of their coffee and offer incredibly detailed and transparent production reports. These include the names of every farmer involved in the entire growing and picking process, the exact times for each element of green processing, and just about every other piece of information you could ever want!
