> UGANDA - Região de Sironko A 1250 metros acima do nível do mar, a estação de lavagem de café Sironko situa-se num local único para receber as chegadas de explorações agrícolas de maior altitude, até 1850 metros, ao longo das encostas do Monte Elgon. O Monte Elgon é um vulcão extinto na fronteira com o Quénia e pensa-se que é o vulcão mais antigo do continente africano. A base maciça e as encostas suaves sustentam milhares de pequenos agricultores, com o café arábica a ser cultivado numa vasta faixa em redor da montanha, entre 1200 e 2200 metros acima do nível do mar. Os solos vulcânicos, a chuva abundante, a altitude elevada e a luz solar abundante são factores que contribuem para o excelente terroir da região do Monte Elgon e para a subsequente qualidade excecional da chávena.
