What the Brand Says

Release #24 Introducing our new Laurina variety from Café Granja La Esperanza, a truly unique offering! This exceptional coffee comes from their farm La Esperanza in Trujillo, Valle del Cauca, Colombia (we've purchased many coffees from this farm now). What makes this coffee stand out, especially for those mindful of their caffeine intake, is that Laurina is naturally lower in caffeine. It typically contains about half the amount of caffeine found in a traditional coffee variety, making it a perfect choice for a delightful coffee experience without the full caffeine kick. Grown at an altitude of 1455-1512 masl and temperatures ranging from 59-84°F, this Laurina coffee benefits from ideal growing conditions. The natural process employed for this lot ensures a rich and complex flavor profile. Cherries are hand-picked at perfect ripeness and carefully floated to select only the densest and most flavorful beans. Then they undergo a 72-hour open-tank fermentation. The drying process takes 8 to 12 days in mechanical dryers at a controlled temperature of 100°F. Finally, the dried cherries are stored in temperature-controlled warehouses, maintained between 64°F and 66°F, to preserve their exquisite profile. You can expect a captivating cup profile with notes of vanilla, plums, chocolate, citrus, and grapefruit, complemented by good sweetness, bright acidity, and a dense, creamy body. This coffee represents a total crop area of 1.05 ha and is a testament to the dedication of Café Granja La Esperanza. Final Roast: July 25, 2026 *Please note that you are purchasing this roast date, unless specified otherwise. Our weekly order deadline is Friday at 8:00 PM PT for Monday shipping. 8oz Brewing Recommendation: Pour Over & Espresso Recommended Rest: 3 - 4 weeks Roast: Light Region: Trujillo, Valle del Cauca, Colombia Elevation: 1445 - 1512 masl (High) Variety: Laurina Process: Natural Harvest: March - May 2025 Importer: Direct with Cafe Granja la Esperanza (CGLE) Partner Since: 2023 Price We Paid: $25/lb
