## What the Brand Says

> Some coffees are selected because they surprise you. Others because they remind you how extraordinary a classic variety can be when placed in the right hands. We chose this washed Pacamara from Luis Anibal Calderon because it is a pure expression of both the variety and the producer. At Villa Betulia, Luis has built a reputation for cultivating some of Colombia’s most remarkable exotic varieties, but what stands out is his restraint. Every decision, from farming to processing, is made to reveal the coffee rather than reshape it. The cup is elegant and beautifully composed. White florals and citrus blossom open the experience before ripe peach, yellow plum and apricot take the lead. Honey sweetness and orange zest bring warmth, while delicate tropical fruit adds brightness. A creamy, satin-like texture carries the coffee into a long finish where acacia honey, light brown sugar and gentle citrus linger with remarkable clarity. Villa Betulia, located in Acevedo, Huila, has become one of Colombia’s defining farms for rare coffee varieties. Luis Anibal Calderon cultivates more than twenty exotic cultivars, each managed individually with meticulous attention to agronomy, harvest timing and post-harvest processing. His work has made the farm a reference point for producers and roasters seeking exceptional expressions of varietal character. For this lot, only perfectly ripe cherries are hand-selected before undergoing a carefully controlled washed process. The approach is intentionally precise and uncomplicated, preserving the natural sweetness, structure and transparency that define an exceptional Pacamara. Pacamara is celebrated for its generous structure and ability to combine sweetness with complexity. In this coffee, those qualities are presented with confidence and precision, offering a cup that is expressive without excess. A coffee selected for what it reveals, not for what has been added to it.
