His family originally owned a small coffee plantation at a lower altitude in the Huila region of Colombia. When he was 14, German’s father sold the plantation and bought an empty lot at a higher altitude. They had no housing on the land, so German’s family slept in a tent while they were developing the new lot, now known as Finca El Roblar. From an empty lot to a blossoming farm, German has produced stunning coffees over the years. This particular Pink Bourbon won him the 4th place Copa de Oro award. Variety Pink Bourbon is a variety primarily grown in Huila, Colombia, and while newer, it has quickly grown in popularity for its bright, sweet, and aromatic profiles. It is now known to be an Ethiopian Landrace variety. Transparency Imported Osito We Paid $28.38 USD/KG Roasted Costs $34.65 USD/KG This is our first year working with German (heir-mahn) Peña. He has produced stunning coffees over the years. This particular lot is the 4th place Copa de Oro western regionals. We are honoured and thrilled to showcase this spectacular Pink Bourbon. This is an extra-light roast variant of our German Peña Pink Bourbon. Extra-light roasts are only recommended for those who prefer this style as they generally sacrifice initial intensity and sweetness for clarity.
