## What the Brand Says

> - Cultivar: SL28, SL34, Ruiru11 and Batian - Flavor Notes: Apricot, Black Tea, Floral, Citrus - Producer: New Ngariama Farmers Cooperative Society - Farm: Kamwangi washing station - Country: Kenya - Region: Kirinyaga, Central Highlands - Process: Washed - Pack: 250g or 1000g Origin This AA fully washed top lot is from Kamwangi washing station, one of 3 factories managed by New Ngariama Farmers Cooperative Society (FCS) in Kirinyaga county, situated in Kenya’s central highlands. The Co-op works with around 1,500 local farmers who cultivate the varieties of Ruiru 11, SL28 and Batian at altitudes up to 1,800masl. Kamwangi has been consistently producing some of our favourite Kenyan coffees for a few seasons now, a testament to the diligence of their farmers and the factory staff. What Does AA Mean? - Bean Size: AA refers to the largest screen size in Kenya’s grading system, typically 7.2–7.8 mm in diameter (screen size 17/18). - Flavor Profile: Larger beans grown at higher altitudes tend to develop denser flavor compounds, often showing bright, complex profiles with citrus, berry, or floral notes. - Roasting Consistency: Their uniform size allows for highly even roasting, making AA lots especially prized by specialty roasters.
