What the Brand Says
Menglian, Yunnan Producing an impressive 400 tons per harvest, Dongka renowned for its remarkably consistent specialty grade washed coffees in the Menglian region of Yunnan. The wash station is expertly managed by Mrs. Na, who buys all her cherries from the surrounding mountain farms. This quasi-contractual arrangement ensures she gets the same high-quality crops every harvest. About four years ago, Mrs. Na made significant improvements to boost both volume and quality, ensuring consistency across the board. The harvest season runs from November to February, with Dongka located at an elevation of 1400 meters above sea level. All the coffees here undergo a washing process, followed by patio drying. The variety grown is catimor. The cherries are first pulped and then fermented for 12-18 hours before being dried on patios for about 10 days. The "Wa" tribe primarily handles the picking in the Menglian region, with additional support from the Akha, Dai, and Lahu tribes. Both farm and wash station owners are from the Han ethnic group. LiftUp is on a mission to spread positive energy. Led by Nadya, this second-generation family business uses coffee as a catalyst for inspiring community, relationships, and adventures.
