Terroir won the Japanese Barista Championships 2023, proving its exceptional qualities that result from the unique combination of soil, climate, and cultivation and processing methods. This coffee is exceptionally elegant with an indescribable abundance of sweetness. It unfolds the essence of elegant flowers and delicate notes of fine grapes with a macaron-like sweetness in the long-lasting aftertaste.

As early as 2016, Terroir amazed the jury and made history when it won the World Barista Championship in Dublin, Ireland, with a perfect score of 6 in the Espresso Course. This coffee exemplifies its remarkable terroir and special variety, further emphasized by the amazing knowledge and processing practices of Jamison Savage at Finca Deborah at its origin.

The journey of Terroir begins with an elaborate harvesting process, where only the ripest and most flawless cherries are handpicked. These cherries are then carefully depulped and washed using state-of-the-art facilities that consume minimal water. Subsequently, the cherries are dried in a climate-controlled drying house in the shade, with the cherries carefully placed on different levels on drying beds. Constant checks ensure precise drying of the beans, contributing to the distinctive and refined characteristics that distinguish Terroir.

Since founding his first farm, the renowned Finca Deborah, in the early 2000s, Jamison has been considered a model for biodynamic farming methods. Since 2016, he has been at the forefront of environmentally friendly, science-based alternative processing approaches with his award-winning results. With advanced processing techniques and cultivation practices that respect nature, Jamison expresses the natural sensory nuances of a coffee. For this reason, he has long been widely known, highly admired, and deeply respected by the earliest lovers of specialty coffee, but especially by the highest-ranking coffee competitors and lovers of coffee competitions.

Finca Deborah is dedicated to growing, processing, and delivering only the highest quality coffee in the world. Finca Deborah is located at an altitude of over 1900 meters, deeply embedded in the mountains of Volcan, where it is shrouded in dense clouds for most of the year. The plantation offers a beautiful, natural environment where rare plant and animal species thrive, and where Geisha coffee can reach its full potential under the protection of the lush rainforest. The careful monitoring of the harvesting process is one of the most important steps in a long list of quality control requirements.
