What the Brand Says
Product Description Producer Alirio Muñoz Farm/Mill Los Guacharos Collective Cultivar Pink Bourbon Process Anaerobic Washed Location Pitalito, Huila, Colombia Altitude 1650 MASL Harvest June 2024 Expect notes of Raspberry, Redcurrant, Floral Coffee Story Pink Bourbon is one of our favourite varieties here at Kiss the Hippo. This much-discussed cultivar was once believed to be a natural mutation of Red Bourbon, with cherries maturing to a pink hue. However, recent genetic testing has revealed its origins in Ethiopia, which explains its delightful floral notes and intense fruit flavours. This particular lot comes from husband-and-wife team Alirio and Anayibe Muñoz. Together they make up the Los Guacharos Collective in Pitalito Huila. The collective has been moving away from traditional fertilisers and pesticides in an effort to prioritise sustainability on their farms. Alirio’s focus has been on specialising in more exotic cultivars, including Pink Bourbon, Bourbon Aji, Chiroso, and Sidra. This lot displays a wonderful red berry-dominant flavour profile with a delicate, complex floral finish a classic, delicious washed coffee. Roast type We don’t label our coffee as espresso or filter. Instead, for each coffee we create a unique roasting profile, designed to bring out the best flavours from its origin, farm and milling method. That’s why, instead, we label our coffee based on the experience it brings to the cup. COFFEE EXPERIENCES UNIQUE & INTERESTING: Boundary-pushing coffee unlike anything you’ve tried before.
