What the Brand Says
- ### About La Reforma SL28 | El Salvador La Reforma SL-28 is a stunning coffee from the Alvarez family, grown high in the Apaneca Ilamatepec mountain range in Calzontes Arriba, Santa Ana, El Salvador. Sitting between 1,300 and 1,450 metres above sea level, the farm enjoys cool 20°C average temperatures, sandy loam soils, and around 2,300 mm of rainfall each year – ideal conditions for slow, sweet cherry maturation. This lot is 100% SL28, a celebrated Kenyan variety planted at La Reforma using seeds brought from Africa, specifically to push quality and diversify cup profiles. The trees flower two to three times between April and May, and grow under a mix of native shade and Inga trees that protect the cherries and promote even ripening. Cherries are processed as a natural, dried on raised beds for 18 days to intensify sweetness and fruit complexity before being dry milled at the renowned El Borbollon mill, a family operation with over a century of experience. Tasting notes include black cherry, grape and a molasses-like sweetness. - ### Coffee Info **Tasting Notes:** Black Cherry | Grape | Molasses **Processing Method:** Natural **Varietal:** SL28 **Importer:** Falcon Coffees- ### About La Reforma SL28 | El Salvador La Reforma SL-28 is a stunning coffee from the Alvarez family, grown high in the Apaneca Ilamatepec mountain range in Calzontes Arriba, Santa Ana, El Salvador.
