What the Brand Says

Variety: Ethiopian Landrace Region: Arbogena, Ethiopia Altitude: 2,200 Meters Above Sea Level Process: Washed w/Barrel Fermentation Harvest: Dec. '24- Jan. 2025 Notes: Blackberry, Raspberry & Rose. Rumudamo has made quite a name for their community over the years. Their coffee continues to impress coffee graders and enthusiasts. An easily enjoyable profile is presented with this Arbogena delight. This is a syrupy-sweet coffee, a well balanced cup with a refreshing jammy character. We get notes like: berry preserves, milk-chocolate, blood orange & a black cherry acidity. This makes for a stellar espresso. The Arbegona Rumudamo Washing Station is located in the Arbegona woreda or Village and is part of the Sidama zone. Managed by Asefa Dukamo Korma, more than 600 farmers contribute with their cherries, mostly with 74112 and other Heirloom varieties. Located amongst the highest elevation when compared to other coffee-growing areas, Rumudamo has a story of excellence, having placed 2nd and 3rd in the 2020 Ethiopia Cup of Excellence. This lot's processing method is a new trial for the Rumudamo station. Once the cherries arrive at the Rumudamo Washing Station, they are placed in water for sorting and removal of floaters, ensuring only the ripest undergo processing. After this, the cherries are placed in large sealed barrels to ferment without water for six days. Sealing the cherries in the barrels with an extended fermentation really increases the fruit impartation for this coffee. The cherries are then de-pulped and washed before being laid to dry in raised African beds for 16-20 days. Last Roast: Dec 15th. A few bags remaining. Shipped on Tuesdays. Our coffees are best after two weeks+ of the roast date.
