What the Brand Says
Variety: SL-09 Process: Washed We’ve only offered one SL-09 lot at BOTZ from Mariagracia Echeandia last year (our first time ever tasting SL-09 happened to be from northern Peru, where the variety is still extremely rare). To date, we remember being so captivated by its profile. At times, we tasted dried apricots. At moments, we tasted jasmine that rivaled our favorite gesha lots. Ever since, we’ve been patiently dreaming and waiting to be lucky enough to showcase the variety again in the BOTZ roast style. When we tasted Juan Valenzuela’s coffee along with a few other SL-09 options from producers in Inkawasi, we were stunned by the unique peachy and tropical dimensions the variety showcases from southern Peru. Juan Valenzuela’s coffee showcases fresh yellow fruits like pineapple and mango with a fresh lemon curd pop. Additionally, there’s a fresh and zesty peachy flavor that transitions into our favorite part of the coffee – its finish. We’ve put marcona almonds on the bag because of their “Queen” status. They’re the pinnacle of buttery, sweet, and lingering creamy texture. Similarly, Juan Valenzuela’s coffee lingers gracefully, flowing, and frictionless. We’re obsessed with its tropical transition into effortless buttery glide that has us reaching for it every chance we get to brew. ***Please note - fulfillment will take place from [5/22-5/26]. Beans will ship on [5/27] (with our hope of shipping earlier if we can)!***Variety: SL-09 Process: Washed We’ve only offered one SL-09 lot at BOTZ from Mariagracia Echeandia last year (our first time ever tasting SL-09 happened to be from northern Peru, where the variety is still extremely rare).
