What the brand says
Supremely citric and structured, this exceptional coffee from the Hinga Kawa Cooperative in Rwanda is an exciting new offering. Lime and blueberry in the aroma make way for raspberry, blueberry and citrus in the finish. Ethically sourced coffee.
This exceptional washed reserve series coffee comes to us from the Hinga Kawa Cooperative in Rwanda’s Gakenke District. This year, Amavida was able to bring in three different processing methods from the same producer group (Natural, Honey and Washed). This natural processed, fair trade/ organic certified lot is bursting with notes of berry and citrus. It is a beautiful representation of the distinct flavor profile we associate with Central African coffees.
Founded in 2004, the Hinga Kawa Cooperative has always strived to consistently improve their quality. Growing almost exclusively Red Bourbon variety of coffee trees, the group consists of 2017 members (916 women) with farms at elevations ranging from 1700-2100 meters. The cooperative owns two washing stations, where farmers can bring their harvested coffee cherries for processing.
This natural processed Rwanda from the Hinga Kawa cooperative is a vibrant and exciting addition to our reserve series line up. We are tasting notes of raspberry, blueberry and citrus in what may be your new favorite coffee this spring,
