What the Brand Says

GOOSEBERRY – WINE GUMS – DARK CHOCOLATE Named for the Bakonzo Tribe, and the realisation of a dream; Chris, a member of the tribe and washing station manager, had expressed his desire to one day have coffee from the Bakonzo people roasted and enjoyed all over the world, and this Bukonzo Dream is the end result, and fine representation of that aspirstion Uganda is mostly known for its Robusta production, but the country also has near-ideal conditions for growing Arabica with a few growing regions offering very distinct flavour profiles. Rwenzori Mountains is one of them. The problem for local coffee growers has historically been accessing basic harvesting and processing facilities meaning that their coffee has mostly been bought up by traders paying less than fair market price. This particular lot has been sourced through Omwani coffee and their Uganda-based partner Agri Evolve, a profit-for-purpose business set up to transform the region’s coffee and support the local community. Having previously resided as our fruit-forward Elixir Espresso, Bukonzo Dream now finds itself amongst our filter lineup, bringing that same vibrancy
