What the brand says
CANDIED FRUIT - CACAO NIBS - CINNAMON This natural filter is a distinctly exceptional offering due to its unique variety. The Maracaturra is a hybrid - a merging of the Caturra: typically sweet and elegant in character, and the Maragogype: sometimes referred to as “elephant bean” for its large size and well-known for presenting floral, citrus flavours with a higher acidity. Owned and managed by Lucia Ortiz and her family, whom we have been trading directly with since 2015 , Finca Las Mercedes is located at Cerro El Tigre, 3 km to the east of Santiago de Maria, Usulutan. The Las Mercedes we buy from Lucia Ortiz has it’s origin in seeds bought from Juan Diego de la Cerda from the El Socorro farm in Guatemala, our first Direct Trade partner. His Maracaturra has come number 1 in the Guatemala Cup of Excellence twice. Grown at 1,460 m.a.s.l on the El Rubi plot of the farm, this coffee has a silky body and mouthfeel with notes of candied fruit, cacao nibs, and cinnamon, presenting a subtle but distinctive natural processed character.
